People are on the move all the time. As we see in a population distribution map this goes back to the earliest days of man. People decide to migrate for simple or complex reasons. They may be fleeing in fear of their lives because of religious or ethnic persecution, looking for a better standard of living, wanting to be with family, looking for new agricultural or economic opportunities.
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC has teamed up with Google's internet mapping service, Google Earth, to try to halt what they see as genocide. The Darfur region of Sudan has a vast quantity of new information in the form of photos, video and testimony highlighting the crisis in the Darfur region.
